2006 National Best Taxi Drivers Award Winner Advises Drivers To Comport Themselves To Grace The Upcoming 25th Anniversary Of Asantehene.

In his quest to ensure a successful program of the Asantehene’s upcoming 25th anniversary, the Vice Chairman of the Sofoline Super Branch of the Ghana Private Road & Transport Union (GPRTU) Mr Julius Caesar Amoah has advised drivers, especially those who operate taxi cars to prepare in advance to be law abiding to enhance a peaceful and fruitful occasion.

Speaking to journalists here in Kumasi, Mr Amoah who was also appointed as a Tourist Ambassador for a period of two years to serve tourists among others in 2006 following his award observed that driving is a professional work which needs attention to pursue.

He hinted that the Otumfuo’s 25th anniversary is a very important occasion which will attract high profile personalities across the world, and as drivers their involvement would be required.

Mr Amoah stressed that as a special occasion, drivers need to show good attitudes towards tourists and others who would engage them for rounds among others.

The Vice Chairman Amoah particularly spoke against drunkenness, smoking, over speeding and overtaking conduct that have the tendency to impact negative scenes in the society.

He also charged drivers to appear neat at all times when driving and adopt culture of maintainable to enhance not only their profession, but also the anniversary in general.

Mr Amoah hoped that the drivers will humble themselves, law abiding and exhibit Ghanaian fraternity as a way to showcase our rich traditional culture to our brothers and sisters who would come down from their various countries to witness the great 25th anniversary of Asantehene.
