7th Day Adventist Church urges religious bodies to adopt interest in the fight against environmental issues.
Members of the Bubiashie District of the Seventh Day Adventist Church (S.D.A) in the Greater Accra region have embraced the sanitation campaign to help promote clean environment, good health and sanitation issues in North Kaneshie Community.
The agenda is to ensure the prevention of diseases and save lives of the people since in their views, good health promotes effective national development.
The leadership of the Community Service Department of the church mobilized its members from the three branch churches in the district for an intensive clean up exercise.
They are; Bubiashie S.D.A church, North Kaneshie S.D.A church and Orgle road S.D.A church respectively where they were tasked to desilt choked gutters and clear the streets of North Kaneshie.
Addressing the communal labor after its closure,the District Community Service leader, Elder Ohenenana Kwadwo Adu Asante called on other religious bodies to join in the campaign to address the issues that boarder on sanitation and environment.
This is because cleanliness is next to godliness and without good health man’s life would be at risk.
The elder entreated the church members to resolve in their Christian believes and always keeps their environments clean for their on benefits.
Hon. Ibrahim Tetteh Ankrah, Assembly Member for Kanchian electoral area in the Okaikoi Sub Metro in the Greater Accra region on his part, expressed his gratitude to the SDA church for their selfless service to the community.
He appealed to the Community Members likewise the S.D.A Church members to vote and retain him in the upcoming district assembly elections.
