The New Patriotic Party (NPP) is currently grappling with internal friction as Kwame Baffoe popularly known as Abronye DC the Bono East Regional Chairman has openly challenged the party’s National Executive Members.
Abronye DC has dropped a bombshell and questioning the Executives inexplicable failure to discipline Kennedy Agyapong, a prominent flagbearer hopeful for the 2028 general elections despite his alleged consistent and damaging attacks on the party.
Speaking on Aben FM in Kumasi Abronye DC expressed his dismay by stating that he cannot comprehend why Kennedy Agyapong is permitted to operate freely and seemingly immune to consequences despite his continuous onslaught against the NPP.
According to Baffoe, Agyapong has been consistently attacking the party and almost all position holders in the party as corrupt, yet he faces no repercussions for such grave allegations.
The outspoken Regional Chairman argued that the National Executives are demonstrably breaching the party’s constitution by overlooking Agyapong’s alleged conduct.
Abronye DC highlighted a perceived double standard by asserting that if it is he Kwame Baffoe was engaging in similar actions, he would undoubtedly be criticized and brought to book to explain himself.
He underscored a widely observed phenomenon in Ghana by noting how Agyapong has been taking the party for granted even to the extent of attacking former President Akufo Addo and go unpunished.
He further allegedly lamented that the big guns of the party are afraid to bring the former legislator to book.
With this issue I accordingly demands answers Abronye DC indicated.
Undeterred by potential backlash Baffoe declared his unwavering commitment as a concerned NPP Chairman.
He vowed not to keep quiet to allow some handful elements in the party to ditch the NPP.
Concluding his address Abronye DC affirmed his dedication to ensure that he return the party into power in 2028.
He also promised to continue to talk until the right thing is done to ensure that transparency, unity and peace in the party are achievable.
Abronye DC’s direct challenge to the NPP National Executive Members underscores a growing concern within certain party quarters regarding internal discipline and accountability.
His brave stance sets the stage for potential internal friction as he pushes for a firm response to what he perceives as significant breaches of party loyalty and constitutional tenets all in the quest for a more unified and disciplined NPP ahead of the 2028 general elections.
