In a remarkable display of grassroots leadership, Mr. Solomon Jabari, an aspiring National Democratic Congress (NDC) Constituency Chairman for the Atwima Kwanwoma, has won the hearts of residents and transport operators by single handedly rehabilitating an 8 kilometer stretch of severely damaged road.
The project which has significantly improved connectivity across the constituency was undertaken to address the deteriorating state of infrastructure that had long crippled local business activities and burdened commuters.

A Gesture Beyond Politics
Mr. Jabari a retired Army Officer explained that his decision to undertake the expensive rehabilitation project was not a campaign strategy but a response to the outcry of the citizens whose livelihoods were at stake.
“My aim at rehabilitating this road did not emanate from my interest in becoming the party Chairman,” Mr. Jabari told our correspondent adding that it was rather stemmed from a commitment to improving the living standards of our people through an effective transportation system.
Supporting the needy and fostering community development has always been one of my topmost priorities.
He narrated that for months, drivers operating within the constituency had complained about the high cost of vehicle maintenance with many forced to pull their vehicles off the road entirely due to the damages caused by the terrain.
Market activities and local commerce had consequently stalled leaving residents in a state of economic frustration, he stated.
Recognizing the urgency of the situation, the retired officer deployed his own construction equipment to level the roads to transform the previously impassable routes back into motorable paths.
According to him the rehabilitation project was focused on the key areas that had been hit by erosion and neglect.
Such areas he hinted, include Brofoyedru
Nkoranza
Twedie and
Kotwi
Residents in these communities expressed their overwhelming gratitude for the relief with many publically endorsing his bid for the constituency chairmanship,
They described the gesture as “unforgettable” and proof of dedication to service.
A Call for Responsible Driving:
While the roads are now open for use, Mr. Jabari took the opportunity to advocate for safety.
He advised motorists to exercise caution to ensure the longevity of the newly rehabilitated roads.
I urge all drivers to apply the road with care, Solomon Jabari stated and urged them to observe road regulations, refrain from drunk driving, avoid reckless overtaking, overloading and the use of mobile phones while behind the wheel.
As the political atmosphere in Atwima Kwanwoma heats up, Mr. Jabari’s proactive approach to community development has firmly positioned him as a popular and influential figure, setting a high record for what constituents expect from their political leaders.
