In a remarkable display of leadership and humanitarian commitment, the Assemblyman for the Mpatuom West Electoral Area in the Amansie West District of the Ashanti Region, Hon. Michael Sakyi has proven his dedication to the welfare of his constituents.
Driven by a deep seated desire to serve God and country, Hon. Sakyi has successfully spearheaded the relocation of over 30 flood threatened residents and the comprehensive renovation of local educational institutions.
A Sanctuary for the Vulnerable:
For years the residents living near the Mpatuom Community Park faced the constant threat of seasonal flooding.

The is known for being waterlogged and posed a perennial risk to lives and property.
In a move to provide a permanent solution Hon. Michael Sakyi influenced a strategic intervention that have seen over 30 residents relocated to a safer grounds.
According to the Assemblyman the initiative was marked by the construction of new housing plan.
He hinted that the contractor behind the relocation was asked to put up houses ranging from six to seven bedrooms to accommodate the affected families.
This move from interviews has been hailed by many as a life saving intervention for those who previously living in fear because of flooding.
Beyond housing efforts Hon. Sakyi further turned his attention to the crumbling infrastructure of the Mpatuom Methodist Local Basic School and Kindergarten (KG) where a violent rainstorm ripped the roofing.
Recognizing that education is the backbone of development, the Assemblyman moved swiftly to fully maintain and restore the school edifices.
The restoration of the roofing and general upkeep of the facilities have made both teachers and pupils to return to a safe and conducive learning environment to continue academic journey.
Hon. Sakyi Michael took the opportunity to thank the Chief of Mpatuom, Nana Asamoah Tia II and his elders for their unwavering guidance and support that have been encouraging him to discharge his duties as a responsible Assemblyman.
