Vote against leaders who would use violence to rule – Bishop Dr J Y Adu to Ghanaians

The founder and leader of the New Jerusalem Chapel sited at Kumasi Sokoban-Ampayoo in the Ashanti Region, Bishop Dr John Yaw Adu says Ghanaians need to discard people who intend to come into power and use violence means to rule the country.

This is because when a violence and wicked leader rules a country the citizens suffer.

Preaching his sermon to climax the end of the year (2022) activities on December 31 at the church premises, the clergy observed that the country is currently above the rule of dictatorship where few people take the laws into their own hands to bully fellow citizens and go unpunished.

The humble servant of God cited some past regimes that subjected citizens of the country into severe punishment, torture and outright human rights abuses.

He particularly mentioned the regimes of the late Dr Osagyefo Kwame Nkrumah and Jerry John Rawlings whose introductions of rule of ‘detention and barbaric revolution’ saw worst human rights abuses in the country.

“We should resolve to resist these suppressive and oppressive rules through democratic practices” Bishop Adu told the crowded congratulation.

Quoting the book of Matthew 21 verses number 5 going, Bishop Dr John Yaw Adu said Ghana as a nation the citizens need to be ruled by a humble, dedicated, God fearing and responsible leader whose life reflect that of Master Jesus the Savior of the world.

He indicated that Jesus Christ was though the Messiah of the Universe, yet He led a humble life to serve of which through His humility mankind can now be saved from sins.

Therefore it is important we should embrace a leader who is ready to serve the people but not a leader who would expect the citizens to serve him.

He posited that it was for these reasons why Ghanaians should embrace the democratic governance which goes with freedom of speech, movement and peaceful rule.

Bishop Adu admonished Ghanaians to trust in God and remain resolute and study the conducts of the power hungry political leaders who would contest in the 2024 elections and examine them before voting them into power.

It is your mandate to check and vote out the violence ones because the country is no longer prepared to accept autocratic leadership that would take the people for granted, the man of God reiterated.

By so doing the peace, unity and development that the country yearns for, would be realized, the outspoken and popular Bishop advised the citizenry.
