Ndc Constituency chairman of Kwadaso urges gov’t to launch serious investigations into Abena Dapaah’s alleged criminal case.

Shocked by the unfolding drama that took place at the premises of the former Minister for Sanitation, Cecelia Abena Dapaah in connection with the allegations of stealing charges against her two house helps, Mr Issal Moro who doubles as the Ndc Constituency chairman for Kwadaso in the Ashanti region has denounced the act.

In a telephone interview from the Northern region, Mr Issah Moro described the scandal as a very serious issue if it is true and called on the government to speed up investigations into the matter to bring out the whole truth for immediate action.

According to the chairman the country is deep financial crisis and wondered on why a whole Minister of state could have hoarded a substantial amount of euros, dollars and several millions of cedis in her house.

Chairman Moro indicated that due to the current financial situation in the country, hence the government has forced itself to seek the IMF loan which is attached with strings of conditionalities.

School children have no food to eat, some are studying under mango trees whilst the coffers of the Ghana Buffer Stock is reported to be empty forcing certain Senior High Schools to close done, but the Minister was hoarding huge sums of money in her house without volunteering loan for the government to solve part of its problems.

The Ndc chairman observed that the action of Cecelia Abena Dapaah is disheartening and questioned the rationale behind her attitude to hide the dollars in her premises which according to him is unlawful if the claim is genuine.

Mr Issah Moro recalled that during the regime of the opposition Ndc under former President John Dramani Mahama, his Attorney General, Mr Obed Asamoah was also exposed in the similar case of Cecelia Abena Dapaah, but he was forced to resign.

After which he was sanctioned amidst punishment from the government.

Therefore if Akuffo Addo’s Minister has also committed the same offence, l believe the law will deal with her when she is pronounced guilty after investigations, Chairman More hinted.
