Floods destroy homes and properties at Vutideke
Torrential rains over the week have destroyed houses and displaced hundreds of people at Vutideke, a community town in the Pru-East District of the Bono East region.
The rains caused heavy flooding of several homes and destroyed properties running into several millions of Ghana cedis,
Consequently many of the residents in the affected communities have relocate from their areas to put up with their family members in the neighbourhood communities.
According to the esidents the situation is very sad as it is having negative impact on their lives .
Buildings have collapsed and the people have lost their belongings including clothing, cooking utensils, furniture, undisclosed sums of money and even school children have had their uniforms, school bags and books swept away by the floods.
An opinion leader, Mr Williams Adjormani said this is not the first time the community have experienced this flooding.
It occurs every rainy season, but this year’s situation is just too much, adding that they have reported it to the Assemblyman and the District Assembly for help.
Meanwhile, Mr Emmanuel Boam, the NDC parliamentary Candidate for Pru-East on his part is passionately appealing to NADMO, philanthropists and Fisheries Minister Hon Hawa Koomson to come to their aid.
