In their quest to ensure that their people enjoy portable water, the chief of Soko a town within the Afigya Kwabre North District of Ashanti Region, Nana Kofi Awiah II together with his queen mother Nana Ama Kyaa III on Tuesday January 10 2023 met a Representative of an Accra based Non Governmental Organization (NGO) Safe Water Inc to deliberate on how best they would extend water project to the town.
On the deliberations, the agent of the NGO, Mr I.K.Acheampog touched on land acquisition where the project will be sited, conditions of services, benefits and job creation in which the project will provide for the youth among others.
Mr Acheampong assured that the NGO as a responsible human institution, never delays on its project execution.
We normally uses at least three to four months to complete every project and handed over provided the land is readily available, Acheampong told the residents of Soko.
He assured that the Soko project will provide 60,000 litre of water daily when the facility is completed.
On his part, Sokohene Nana Kofi Awiah II thanked the NGO for the move which he described it as tlmely.
Nana said water problems have been one of the topmost challenges that have been confronting the town.
He assured to take the opportunity to speed up things to ensure that the NGO starts the project in time to benefit the people.
In her brief contribution, the queen mother of the town, Nana Ama Kyaa III appealed to the residents who have ready lands around the town to voluntarily offer parts for the project.
This she said, would enable the chief and his elders to have time to compensate the donar of the land for the water project.
