Breaking News: Akim Ankaase Youth Set To Embark On Demonstration Over Alleged. Discrimination In The District Assemblies Elections.

In preparation towards the upcoming District Assemblies elections, the Concerned Youth of the Akim Ankaase in the Eastern region, led by Chairman Abeiku, have planned a massive showdown through an aggressive demonstration, if the authorities refuse to work out any measures that could help them to get a substantial Assemblyman for their area.

Chairman Abeiku questioned on why Akim Ankaase, Akim Asamang Tamfoe, and Akim Manpong, these three separate towns should have only one Assembly member for the past years.

He stated that, Akim Ankaase has over two thousand citizens, and the same goes to the other two towns, and indeed, by considering the populations, each town needs to have its own Assemblyman to help lobby projects for them.

In terms of infrastructure and development, Akyim Ankaase citizens are currently far below the belt and cannot compete others, chairman Abeiku hinted.

Each town needs to have an assembly member to ensure that they can call on him when needed to set up projects that could progress the community’s and the youth’s development.

On this note, chairman Abeiku passionately and urgently appealed to Hon. Abena Osei Asare, the Member of Parliament for the area, Atiwa East Constituency in the Eastern region to look into the matter before the demonstration takes off.

The chairman asserted that if their MP fails to take any action, she should keep in mind that the youth will not vote and would resist anyone from bringing ballot boxes to the area for voting exercise until their wish is granted.
