Sofoline GPRTU gives two weeks ultimatum to shopowners to refrain from encroachment or spill the bean.

Authorities of the Kumasi Sofoline branch of the Ghana Private Road & Transport Union (Gprtu) have through their Solicitors given a two weeks ultimatum to the shopowners who operates six (6) stores at the ground floor of the terminal to stop encroaching the area, effective Monday, February 12, 2024, or be prepared to face the law subject to the non-compliance of the directives.

In a letter written by the Union’s Solicitors, Excellent Law Consult dated 8th February 2024 and copied to the affected shopowners of which this publishing company has intercepted a copy, the Union stated that per the agreement it entered into with the shopowners on 13/02/2018, it was agreed that the shopowners would operate within their shops devoid of encroachment.

According to the Solicitors, the aforementioned shop operators are on the contrary to the agreement been encroaching the terminal, an act the law firm stated was not part of the agreement.

“We are therefore instructed by our client to notify you and we hereby NOTIFY you of the conduct of the occupants of the six (6) stores and by extension your failure to ensure compliance with the said agreement that was entered into between you and our client”

The letter stated further that please be advised that if you fail to make amends and or ensure that the occupants of the stores confine their wares or goods to their respective stores within 14 days upon receipt of this letter, we have the instructions of our client to take any available legal action against you.
