The Ashanti Regional chairman of the New Patriotic Party Vendors Association, Mr Bismark Ayensu has disclosed that he is anxious to raise a whooping sum of Ghc 1. 8 billion through road tolls annually into state coffers if road tolls contracts are entrusted into his hands.
Speaking to the Correspondent in an interview the staunch Npp stalwart expressed disappointment that though Nana Akuffo Addo is doing his best to salvage the economy, certain elements tend to wreck his efforts.
Apparently referring to revenue mobilisation to support economy, chairman Ayensu alleged that some individuals and organizations have become failure when contracts are entrusted into their hands to generate funds for the government.
He cited the abrogation of the road tolls contracts which he said can help government to generate funds to fix the country if it is managed properly.
According to chairman Ayensu it is against this background, hence he is passionately appealing to the President to hand over the tolls booth collections to him so that he could raise funds to support government to fix the country.
Ayensu underscored that this is the second he is appealing to the president to hand over the tolls collections to him to manage.
I am asking the president to try me for just six months and if he finds me to be incapable to do the work then, he can terminate my contract Chairman Ayensu quipped.
