Asantehene deserves honor – Says Cluster Manager of Ghana Post.
The Ashanti/Northern sector Director of Ghana Post, Mr Johnson Asante has disclosed that the Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, affectionately called King Solomon deserves honor for his humanitarian gestures, and for that matter his dedication to transform the society.
Mr Asante made the assertion in an exclusive interview with a section of the media in reaction to the survival and speedy transformation of the Ghana Post.
He highlighted about the important roles that Otumfuo has played to make the outfit boasts about the success stories it has so far chalked since the company was taken over from the government.
The Director cited that the current management of the Ghana Post came to take over the administration of Ghana Post which was then under the government, but yet was under verge of collapse due to alleged mismanagement.
Mr Asante indicated that after taken over the administration, management applied modern technology and branding system, otherwise known as digitization approach as their priority to transform the outfit.
According to Mr Johnson Asante, dubbed ‘Adwuma Wura’ literally means ‘owner of the job’ in the media parlance, despite the management efforts to apply the technology to see a new wave in the Ghana Post, the company was confronted with some challenges like seizures of its properties notably the physical structures and lands.
The Ashanti regional branch of the Ghana Post the Director reiterated, became the worst target but through Asantehene,s timely interventions all those chiefs who made an attempt to engage the company with legal battles to claim their lands coiled into their shells.
Today what do we see in the Ghana Post, Mr Asante questioned and insisted that the company’s branding and technology system have worked effectively to improve the activities of the company.
He stressed that these feats have been achieved through Asantehene’s interventions, adding that the hundreds of workers, the outfit has employed and thus supporting them to feed their families across the country would be seen as jobless citizens in the country.
The Asanti/Northern sector Director observed that Ghana Post is currently making impact in the country, and in its quest to show appreciation and recognize the role the Asantehene have played to revamp the outfit, hence the management of Ghana Post have considered it prudent to honor him
Mr Asante said Ghana Post has slated Saturday May 4, 2024 to honor Otumfuo as part of measures for the Ghana Post to celebrate with the King his 25th Anniversary of his enthronement onto the prestigious seat of the Golden Stool.
Among the honor, Ghana Post would release a special postage stamp dubbed, “Commemorative Stamp” designed in a golden form to show the greatness and humanitarian nature of the occupant of the Golden Stool.
