Save Ghana Movement Admonishes Ghanaians To Stay And Help Build The Economy

Management of an Accra-based pro socio-political advocacy movement dubbed Save Ghana Movement has advised Ghanaians who have the intentions to travel outside for greener pastures to have a change of mind.

Instead they should reconsider and commit themselves to the service of Ghana to help revamp the economy, the Chief Executive Officer of the Movement, Mr Robert Andzie Ansah has disclosed.

Speaking to the reporter in an interview on telephone, Mr Ansah noted that in most cases those who travel to the advanced countries count themselves as lucky citizens or link their exit from Ghana to God’s intervention palpably to imply that Ghana is inferior or undesirable country.

Mr Ansah noted that such thinking is regrettable, since it does not only create a negative perception of Ghana but also smacks the suspicion that some fellow Ghanaians are not serious in life.

Mr Ansah reiterated that Ghanaians need to know that the prosperity of the developed nations stems from the dedication of their inhabitants to build and improve their own countries instead of migrating to foreign shores and waste their time.

Ghanaians he said, need to emulate this commitment and contribute to the advancement of their homeland.

Amidst global crises like the recent Covid-19 pandemic, while many countries made an attempts to return their citizens, some Ghanaians abroad displayed reluctance to return home, Mr Ansah recalled.

Ansah related that this inclination to forsake Ghanaian citizenship and embrace foreign nationalities overlooks the reality that residency and privileges in developed nations are contingent upon legal documentation.

What if these host countries were to reverse their hospitality and demand return, the Movement questioned.

Stressing, such a scenario underscores the importance of fostering national development and self-reliance.

The Save Ghana Movement is advocating for courage and resilience among Ghanaians, advising them to remain and actively participate in uplifting their own country rather than succumbing to cowardice and seeking opportunities elsewhere.

The Movement believes that since togetherness we can develop Ghana into a thriving and attractive nation to compete with the development countries, we need to exercise patience and contribute our quota towards national development.

When you travel abroad to explore and you come back home, do you feel proud as a Ghanaian, the Movement queried.By Robert Andzie Ansah the Founder, Save Ghana Movement.
