National Policy Plan Is The Best Option That Can Transform The Economy- Otumfuo Atenehene
The chief of Denase, a town along the Kumasi-Offinso road in the Afigya Kwabre North in the Ashanti Region, Nana Boakye Yiadom Atonsu II has stressed the need for Ghanaians to advocate for the institutionalization of ‘National policy plan’ to help transform the economy.
Nana Atonsu II who also doubles as the Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II’s Atenehene in an interview with the correspondent observed that the Western countries have developed due to the introduction of National policy plan.
According to the chief, national policy plan is a master key which every sitting or incoming president should rely on to develop the country, devoid of using party manifestos, as it is happening in the advanced countries.
Nana Atonsa II stated that if the policy is operational in the country no new government would neglect the projects of its predecessor and tackle new projects to the disadvantage of the citizenry.
Describing the national policy plan also a secret key of national development, Denanasehene reiterated that the country have both natural and human resources that can be used to transform the country, lack of proper management has creating the impression that the country is poor
The country have fertile lands for agriculture investment, mineral resources, rivers and streams, timber, cocoa among others, Ghana still dabbles in poverty and asked on whether the leaders have made any attempt to find out the cause of this national retrogression.
The secret to transform Ghana would only based on the introduction of the national policy plan, insisting that if the policy is in force, all economic structures would work properly to attract more investors to help revamp the country.
Citing one typical benefit about the implementation of national policy plan, the mentioned the current administration of Burkina Fasso where it’s leadership recently rejected International Monetary Fund (IMF) loan due to the alleged new national plan policy and the country’s inability to operate under foreign dictatorship.
Cases of alleged bribery, corruption, stealing, destruction of government properties, laziness at work and others, Nana went on would be curbed per the articles that would be enshrined in the policy.
It is time we should stop use party manifestos to rule the country, Nana cautioned and emphasized that if a ruling party uses its manifesto in addition to a portion of state law to operate, the system gives few people the authority to manipulate the country to their own advantage.
Nana Atonsa attributed the vast destruction of the country’s water bodies, forest, environmental pollution to the lack national policy implementation simply because no one cares about the people and the next generation.
