Professor Gyampo unequivocally asserts that President Akufo-Addo must face accountability for the National Cathedral scandal, even after his tenure has ended. The Professor’s stance emphasizes that no individual, regardless of their position or influence, should be exempt from the consequences of their actions.
The National Cathedral project has been marred by allegations of impropriety, and it is imperative that those responsible, including the President, are held to account for their role in this egregious affair.
Anything less would be a miscarriage of justice and a betrayal of the public’s trust.
EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW WITH TV3:
In an exclusive interview with TV3 this afternoon, former Sports Minister, Hon. Elvis Afriyie-Ankrah, lambasted the Akufo Addo/Dr. Bawumia administration for plunging the nation into unprecedented economic hardship and rampant unemployment, leaving the youth feeling hopeless and disenfranchised.
He boldly declared that the current government has catastrophically collapsed all sectors of the Ghanaian economy, making it difficult and necessitating a visionary leader like John Mahama to reverse the fortunes of the country and restore prosperity.
Hon. Afriyie-Ankrah also highlighted the strategic significance of hosting the NDC campaign launch in Tamale, now another equally significant stronghold of the party. With unwavering confidence, he predicted a resounding victory for John Mahama in the 2024 elections, proclaiming that JM will triumphantly return to the Jubilee House with little or no sweat.
STERN WARNING TO NANA ADDO AND NPP.
The National Chairman of the NDC, Mr. Johnson Asiedu Nketia, has issued a stern warning to President Akufo-Addo, urging him to relinquish power peacefully, as his predecessors have done. This caution comes amidst concerns over President Akufo-Addo’s repeated declarations that he would only hand over power to a candidate other than NDC Flagbearer John Dramani Mahama.
Mr. Asiedu Nketia emphasized that a peaceful transfer of power is crucial for maintaining national harmony and stability, warning that any attempts to subvert this process would create a fertile ground for chaos.
He also expressed dismay over the National Peace Council’s silence on the unfolding events in the country, stressing that their mandate includes advising the President when he deviates from the path of wisdom.
Mr. Asiedu Nketia appealed to the nation’s chiefs, as the last resort, to speak truth to power and not tow the line of the “clueless” President Akufo-Addo, emphasizing the importance of their non-partisan stance.
Furthermore, he urged Ghanaians to reject Dr. Bawumia due to his lack of credibility, reiterating that a peaceful outcome in this year’s elections is paramount for the country’s well-being.
Mr. Asiedu Nketia’s statements underscore the NDC’s commitment to ensuring a smooth transition of power and upholding the principles of peace and democracy.
