Incumbent New Patriotic Party (NPP) Member of Parliament for Effutu constituency, Hon. Alex Afenyo-Markin, was booed and jeered by supporters of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) for crashing an event hosting the party’s running mate, Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang.
The NDC’s Regional Advanced Team, led by Central Regional Organizer Chief Mike Dery and his Deputy Commander 1, received a warm welcome from enthusiastic supporters clad in party regalia and dancing to NDC songs. The lively atmosphere drew Afenyo-Markin to the venue, where he was met with a chorus of disapproval.
The crowd’s fervent chants and slogans called for change, emphasizing their desire for new leadership to alleviate their suffering. The supporters’ fervor and demand for change set the tone for a memorable event, highlighting the intense political atmosphere in the constituency.
The teeming supporters of the party pledged their unflinching support for NDC, reaffirming that they will vote massively for John Mahama and the NDC Parliamentary Candidate Dr Kofi Annan.
