As an indegenous African and a descendant of Thelma and also Jacob as enscribed in the Bible, i have always be in the known that our ancestors are of great wisdom. Biblically Jacob who was the last born turned out to be the head and promised nation builder. Therefore it wasn’t surprising when Joseph the last born of Jacob actually become the Egyptian prime minister to have dominion over both his father and eleven senior brothers. Same is the case of Mr Alan Kwadwo Kyeremateng the flagbear of the movement for change and the Alliance for Revolutionary Change.
First it was the case of H.E. J. A Kuffour who is a true blooded Asnteman and a royal from the Apagyafie in the year 2000 general elections which he won after placing last on the ballot paper just as Mr Alan Kwadwo Kyeremateng is today, with the slogan Aseɛho . It was therefore not surprising when the representative of Mr Alan Kwadwo Kyeremateng choose the ballot number 13 which represents the bottom position on the ballot paper.
Mr Alan Kwadwo Kyeremateng just as J. A Kuffour is a the grandson of Nana Yaa Asantewaa from Ejuso matrilineally with his father also from Patase. Traditionally he is a true royal of the Asanteland , therefore the bottom position on the ballot and the slogan Aseɛho is significant and symbolises victory.
Infact , in the year 2000, former president Jerry John Rawlings was exiting power with his vice John Atta Mills contesting as the presidential candidate for the NDC who happened to be number 1 on the ballot. In 2008 when J. A Kuffour and the NPP were existing power they were also number on the ballot with Nana and Bawumia on their ticket.
If position on the ballot is anything to go by then the NPP and the current vice president Bawumia should be cursing their stars as history has shown that anytime a party in government after their 8 year rule is exiting, gets the number 1 position on the ballot which signifies defeat and makes their going to opposition very easier. It happened in 2000 and also in 2008. So significantly is the fact that in 2008, the current president was the npp’s candidate with the current vice president as his running mate. This indeed is a repeat of the year 2000 elections with 2008 in mind. Indeed the gods are wise and can never be wrong.
Mr Alan Kwadwo Kyeremateng and the Change Train is indeed coming to power with a change in our body politics. The history and phenomenon of Ghana’s politics will not be the same as it is now with Mr Alan Kwadwo Kyeremateng breaking the NDC and NPP duopoly.
Change has come, change is hear. And with the movement for change and the Alliance for Revolutionary Change, Ghana is indeed going to rise again.
