In a climate of political tension and rampant insults among candidates, Prophet Zacceous, founder and leader of Yah Is Our Saviour based in Kumasi Ashanti region, has stressed .. a timely and . crucial message for politicians in Ghana: prioritize peace over divisive attacks and avoid actions that may suggest a hidden agenda to exploit the nation once in power.
In a recent interview, Prophet Zacceous spoke passionately about the state of democracy in Ghana, asserting that it should be rooted in good governance that allows citizens to express their opinions freely and leads to effective economic development.
Howeve, he lamented that many politicians have distorted this vision, taking advantage of public ignorance to pursue personal agendas, often at the cost of the very citizens who elect them.
The prophet’s concerns were heightened by the recent wave of insults exchanged among political figures during their campaign trails. He warned that such behavior is not only unbecoming but is also likely to escalate political tensions and incite violence.
“Politics is not a matter of violence or war,” he remarked, adding “It is crucial for those seeking political power to remain disciplined, God-fearing, and to present policies that will genuinely transform the economy.”
Prophet Zacceous posed a thought-provoking question to politicians: “Why resort to insults and attacks on opponents?” He emphasized that such hate-filled campaigns might imply that those engaging in them harbor ulterior motives, perhaps a desire to loot the nation once they gain power.
“Our God is a God of peace and unity,” he stated emphatically, warning that any agenda tied to violence and destruction will ultimately lead to failure.
Furthermore, the prophet criticized the current leadership for acting as tyrants, hungering for power without considering the welfare of the nation. “Instead of showcasing good conduct and managing our resources prudently for the youth to emulate, our leaders have turned a blind eye to the sins they commit against the state,” he lamented.
He reminded all political leaders that a day of reckoning lies ahead, urging them to act responsibly as stewards entrusted with the nation’s resources.
To underpin his message, Prophet Zacceous referenced several scriptures, 1 Corinthians 2:6, Matthew 23, and Luke 24:44 highlighting the moral and ethical responsibilities borne by those in positions of power.
He urged politicians to engage in self-reflection, inviting them to read their Bibles and seek repentance for their misdeeds.
Addressing the youth, the prophet offered sage advice to sidestep the pitfalls of financial enticement often dangled by unscrupulous politicians eager to incite political violence.
“These politicians will use you to win elections and then cast you aside,” he cautioned. He encouraged young people to expose and reject anyone seeking to manipulate them for destructive ends, emphasizing the importance of integrity in the political landscape.
As Ghana approaches the electoral season, Prophet Zacceous’ clarion call for peace, discipline, and accountability resonates deeply within the political discourse. His emphasis on constructive dialogue over conflict, integrity over deceit, and service over exploitation serves as a guiding light for both current and aspiring leaders poised to shape the future of the nation.
It’s through only such an approach can Ghana achieve the sustainable growth and stability that its citizens deserve.
