By King Amoah

In the intricate tapestry of Ghana’s spiritual and political landscape, few figures command as much attention as Nana Kweku Bonsam, a renowned traditional priest based in Akomadan- Afrancho , Ashanti Region.

Known internationally for his prophetic abilities, Nana Kweku Bonsam who presides over Kofi oo Kofi Shrine gained prominence during the recent election cycle for his bold predictions regarding the electoral victory of former President John Dramani Mahama. With victory now realized, Kweku Bonsam not only celebrates his accurate foretelling but also uses this moment to call out what he perceives as the tarnishing of the priesthood by false prophets in the country.

In an exclusive telephone interview, Nana Kweku Bonsam expressed his deep disappointment with how some pastors are misusing the scriptures, thereby undermining the sanctity of their vocation and the authority of God. As a traditional priest who has had his share of vilification, particularly for supporting Mahama during the elections, he reflected on the turmoil experienced due to his spiritual insights.

He noted that during the political campaign, numerous so-called prophets were confidently declaring a victory for Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, often disregarding his own predictions for Mahama and deriding him with unprintable names.

Nana Kweku Bonsam, however, stands firm in his belief that true consultations with the divine yield genuine insights. “In the spiritual realm, gods never speak lies,” he asserted. The disappointment he feels is palpable, as he recalls instances where his property was vandalized due to his vocal support for Mahama.

He posits that the recent electoral results validate his predictions and poses a significant question to those who have prophesied otherwise: “Was their prophecies truly from God?”

In a pointed challenge to his counterparts in the religious realm, Nana Kweku Bonsam invited the so-called false prophets to seek him out for spiritual healing. He expressed his willingness to assist them in learning the responsibility that comes with the prophetic vocation ensuring that their predictions align with divine truths.

“I throw you a challenge to see me so that I can spiritually heal you to speak the truth at all times,” he declared.

Beyond the realm of prophecies, Nana Kweku Bonsam’s statements have wide-reaching implications for Ghana’s political climate, particularly concerning issues of corruption. He anticipates that President-elect Mahama will take decisive action against corrupt officials from the outgoing Akufo-Addo administration.

Drawing attention to the rampant corruption that has plagued the country, Nana Kweku Bonsam believes that a thorough investigation and recovery of misappropriated funds are essential for Ghana’s economic sustainability.

“The best way Mahama can sustain the economy is to retrieve all the stolen money from the NPP operatives under Akufo-Addo’s regime,” he reiterated. Such bold assertions highlight not only his commitment to a more transparent political landscape but also his desire for accountability in governance.
