Dampare’s enemies knew that he was too honest in the discharge of his duties. They knew he was the standing block to their dubious/diabolic intentions of rigging the elections. Is this a man who deserves to be laid off?… mansa musa writes ✍️*
Now, yesterday, I had people rushing to give me their peace of mind. Some respondents to my earlier complimentary statement about our current IGP became incensed with my suggestion that IGP Dampare should be retained as top police chief. For a start, I will urge all those bearing personal grudges with the IGP to go talk to their pastors or imams. They should not allow pains and hatred to eat them up. The fact about the matter is that the IGP Mr. Dampare is hated or disliked by persons from both sides of the main political divide. People in ndc and npp all harbour some negative sentiment about him. This, to an intelligent mind, is a good enough reason for him to stay.*
*Again, this, to me, shows he’s doing his job properly. And not only that. This is a top police boss whose enemies plotted(a do or die)subversive act to have him sacked. His crime, according to those plotters, was that if he stayed in power or kept in charge at the helm of affairs, then it would be almost impossible to rig the general elections. Now, the elections are over, and the rig merchants, the riggers, failed. This, in anybody’s book, indeed from the book of Biblical Job to the Book of Revelations. In the books written by Achimedes, in the Quran, in Osagyefo Kwame Nkrumah books. In anybody’s book, this alone speaks for his retainment as the IGP.*
*I know all governments make mistakes, and this brand new ndc government will make some mistakes. But I strongly would urge President Mahama and his ndc not start with a mistake of sacking Dampare. The other day, he was seen outside directing and helping his men manage an overwhelming situation of heavy traffic. Some say this was the type of ‘eye service’ showoff and even an act of a desperate buddy trying to catch the eyes of his bosses.*
Whatever one would like to make of his antics the other day, the fact remains that he, as a human is not perfect but for what he’s been hired to do, he is doing it well, he fits the bill. Here is a guy whose enemies accused him of being too honest. An inspector who is so firm, so fair in the discharge of his duties, so much so that they wanted him sacked else their diabolic plans to rig the elections will not succeed. Who in their right mental facilitates would sack this Inspector General of Ghana Police Service, I dare to ask.*
Mansa Musa is a volunteer adviser from afar. Thank you.
