A retired Methodist clergyman, Very Rev. JB Danquah, has strongly criticized the Christian Council of Ghana for its perceived silence on the ongoing ministerial appointments and vetting process under the Mahama-led NDC government. Danquah warned of potentially dire consequences for the nation if the Council continues to remain uninvolved.

V. Rev. J.B Danquah accused the Christian Council of potentially being labelled “incompetent” if it persists in remaining silent on the ministerial nominations and vetting process, as if the matter were of no concern to them. He argued that religious bodies have a responsibility to take an active interest in national issues.

He stressed that apart from the Christian Council, there was the need for other religious bodies such as the Muslim leadership and the Catholic Secretariat to also show interest.

He asserted that the Council’s continued inaction risks pushing the country towards a ditch and threatens to expose its leadership as failing in their duties.
