A dramatic and highly public confrontation unfolded on Saturday afternoon, July 12, in Kwabre Kenyase in the Kwabre East Municipal, leaving residents shocked and a 20-year-old carpenter deeply humiliated.
The spectacle involved a 30-year-old self-confessed prostitute Abena Mansa, who allegedly brutally attacked carpenter Kweku Baah over an unpaid sex fee of Ghc150.
The incident drew a massive crowd as Mansa shamelessly accosted Baah in the middle of the town, demanding payment for services rendered.
According to Mansa, Baah had engaged her services for three marathon rounds of sex but then allegedly refused to honour his promise of payment.
Baah had three marathon rounds of sex with me but after enjoying me he failed to honor his promise hence my serious attack to claim my money, Mansa a resident of Kenyase, emphatically stated amidst the commotion grounds.
Mansa recounted that Baah approached her earlier that fateful morning and proposed a transaction.
She stated that she readily agreed acknowledging her profession and immediate need for money for food.
They reportedly agreed on a sum of Ghc150 for the three rounds of sexual activity.
After fulfilling her part of the agreement, Mansa claimed Baah began making excuses when asked for payment.
He then allegedly pushed her out of the room presumably thinking that she would leave quietly without a word.
However luck eluded him as Mansa followed him directly into the heart of the town, initiating a public confrontation that quickly drew crowd to the scene for intervention.
The dramatic scene unfolded as Mansa publicly demanded her payment, creating a spectacle that forced residents to intervene. From the Ghc150, Baah managed to pay Ghc50. Other concerned sympathizers, eager to spare the carpenter further public humiliation, contributed the remaining Ghc100 and finally pacified Mansa and thus leading to Baah’s release from the ordeal.
Amidst a flurry of insults and stern advice from the gathered crowd, the carpenter was cautioned to return home and avoid repeating such mistakes in the future.
The incident serves as a stark reminder of the often-hidden, yet sometimes explosively public, complexities of such illicit transactions.
