A Nigerian landlord has revealed how repeated lockouts by his wife led him to marry his female tenant, who once showed him unexpected kindness.
Sharing his story on X (formerly Twitter), the man identified as @tort_walec said the turning point came in 2017 when his wife, yet again, locked him out of their home for coming back late. That night, his compassionate tenant offered him shelter.
“In 2017, my wife locked me outside, but our beautiful, kind-hearted female tenant opened her door for me. In short, she’s not a tenant anymore. We now have three children,” he wrote.
He added that this wasn’t the first time, saying it had happened over 20 times before he decided to leave the marriage.
His post has since gone viral amid ongoing debates on X over whether it’s right for a woman to lock her husband out of the house. The story has sparked mixed reactions, with some supporting his move and others criticizing the situation.
