A clarion call for prophic Purity: Elder Ofori Jnr urges Ghanaians to discard Merchants of doom

In the wake of the tragic Obuasi plane disaster in Aug 6 which claimed the lives of eight dedicated government officials on national assignment, a poignant and powerful voice has emerged from Ghana’s religious landscape.

Elder Enoch Ofori Jnr, the esteemed Head Pastor of the Association of 7th Day Pentecostal Assemblies has issued a profound counsel, urging Ghanaians to exercise discernment and discard what he describes as doomsday prophets.

These pastors he observed pronounce consistently issues that centered on evil and despair yet they claim their pronouncements are from God.

Elder Ofori Jnr’s heartfelt message began with a deep expression of sorrow for the deceased and extended profound condolences to the bereaved families.

He prayed for ultimate peace and comfortable rest for the souls who had dedicated their lives to serving Ghana.

However amidst this period of national mourning the man of God voiced a significant concern: the opportunistic behavior of some pastors.

He decried those who, in the aftermath of such a tragedy, seek to popularize themselves by claiming to have had foreknowledge of the incident, despite having offered no prior prayer for its aversion nor presented any solution to mitigate the suffering.

Crucially, Elder Ofori Jnr challenged the very premise of such prophecies.

He asserted that when God truly directs a prophecy to His servants, He invariably reveals the antidote for breakthrough – a path to avert or overcome the impending challenge.

He wondered aloud prophecieswhy if these pastors genuinely claimed their were from God they failed to apply scriptural methods to avert the plane crash.

To underscore his point, Elder Ofori Jnr drew a powerful parallel from biblical history, citing 2 Kings chapter 2.

He recalled the episode during King Hezekiah’s reign in Israel, when Prophet Isaiah delivered a prophecy of the King’s imminent death and instructed him to prepare his will.

However upon hearing the message King Hezekiah humbled himself, prayed fervently to God and begged for divine consideration.

In response God, through Prophet Isaiah granted King Hezekiah an additional fifteen years of life.

This miraculous turnaround, Elder Ofori Jnr emphasized occurred when Isaiah and the King united in prayer and action to demonstrate God’s willingness to intervene and change destiny.

“To announce one’s death without remedy is an attempt to influence bad spirits through your words, Elder Ofori Jnr posited and draw a stark line between genuine divine communication and fear-mongering.

Citing biblical principles he contended that some figures much like those described in ancient scriptures Ezekiel 13 operate not from divine commission but from their own figment of lies to prophecy and deceive people.

Elder Ofori Jnr meticulously outlined the true mandate of men and women of God.

He affirmed that their sole responsibilities are to pray for their leaders and country, seek God’s protection and development and preach issues that could influence luck and blessings upon the nation but not curses, magical terms, or satanic sermons.

He lamented that the negative impact of some pastors attitudes on the country is palpable and it is high time for a collective shift away from vulgar utterances including insults directed at the elderly.

In essence Elder Enoch Ofori Jnr’s counsel is a clarion call for spiritual discernment tha urge Ghanaians to embrace a faith rooted in hope, responsibility, and constructive action. It is a powerful reminder that genuine divine intervention often comes with a path to breakthrough and that true spiritual leadership fosters national development and protection, rather than capitalizing on fear and misfortune.
