Here is youtube link for that.
Fellow Africans,
I stand before you today not just as a candidate for the Chairperson of the African Union Commission, but as a champion for the dream of a united Africa. A dream our forefathers, from Marcus Garvey to Kwame Nkrumah, Thomas Sankara, and countless others, fought so valiantly to achieve.
The vision of the Organisation of African Unity (OAU) – a single, unified Africa – remains unfulfilled. We are a continent rich in resources, brimming with potential, yet fragmented by borders and burdened by the weight of the past.
But unity is not a distant aspiration, it’s an urgent necessity.
I propose a bold Pan-African agenda, one that prioritizes the immediate steps toward a unified Africa:
Continental Government:
Let us establish a strong, democratic continental government, representing the collective voice and will of all Africans.
One Africa, One Currency:
A single African currency will foster trade, dismantle economic barriers, and position us as a global economic powerhouse.
The African Passport:
Imagine the freedom of movement across our continent, a passport that symbolizes our shared identity and destiny.
Unified Telecommunications:
Let us break down communication barriers with a single, affordable telecommunications network connecting every corner of Africa.
Borderless Africa:
Open borders will not only facilitate trade but also celebrate the rich tapestry of our cultures.
A Pan-African Military:
A unified military will ensure our collective security and independence, allowing us to speak with one voice on the global stage.
This is not a dream for 2063, it’s a call to action for today!
We can achieve this by:
Prioritizing Pan-Africanism:
Let us move beyond nationalism and embrace the power of collective action.
Rejecting Debt and Colonial Practices: We will demand reparations for past injustices and chart a self-determined course, free from dependence on external forces.
Harnessing Our Resources:
Africa’s vast wealth belongs to Africans. We will invest in our people, infrastructure, and innovation.
This path will not be easy, but together, as progressive Pan-Africanists, we can overcome any obstacle. Our unity is not just a slogan; it’s our salvation.
Let us join hands, let us break down the walls that divide us, and let us build the Africa of our dreams – a united, prosperous, and powerful Africa!
The time is now. Let us begin!
Yours in Pan-African solidarity.
