During the operation, Brew was apprehended while attempting to deliver the firearms in exchange for GHS 80,000. Authorities confirmed that the arrest was the result of a coordinated sting operation designed to prevent the illegal distribution of arms and to dismantle networks supplying weapons to criminal elements.

The incident has raised serious concerns about the involvement of security personnel in illegal activities and the potential threat posed to public safety when firearms fall into the hands of criminal gangs.

Police and military authorities have vowed to investigate thoroughly to determine whether Brew acted alone or as part of a larger network.

The Ghana Armed Forces, in collaboration with the police, are expected to conduct a full review of protocols to prevent similar breaches, emphasizing the importance of discipline and accountability within the military ranks.

As investigations continue, Brew remains in custody, and further updates are expected regarding formal charges and the progress of the case. Authorities have appealed to the public to report any information that could assist in curbing the illegal arms trade and enhancing national security.
