A responsible father is the one who seeks to promote peace and stability within his family – Bishop Adu.

Founder and leader of the New Jerusalem Chapel located at Sokoban-Ampayoo in Kumasi in the Ashanti Region, Bishop Dr John Yaw Adu has described fathers as a responsible elements who promote peace, unity and stability in their homes.

Preaching a sermon on Sunday June 18, 2013 from the book of Ephesians chapter 5 verse 25, to mark the “Fathers Day” celebrations, the clergy observed that fathers play a leading roles in the family and for that matter human existence.

Bishop Dr John Yaw Adu reiterated that as responsible fathers, it our responsibility to discharge our duties as assigned by God and avoid attitudes that could raise credibility problems in the society.

Fathers he said, need to show compassion, care and greater love for their children since the children are their own blood and special gifts from God.

The man of God hinted that fathers are the focal points in every home of whom the families depends on them for for their livelihood, that is why in every situation children mention the name of fathers to signify the protection, upkeep, love and care that fathers have in them.

The clergy condemned in no uncertain terms some wicked fathers who disown, neglect and refuse to seek the welfare of their children.

He insisted that wicked fathers deserve punishment and does not need to be celebrated.

Bishop Adu cited that as Jesus Christ showed love to his followers as explained in the Scriptures, it is the ultimate responsibility for fathers to also love their wives and children to help promote peaceful coexistence at all times.

Charging wives too to accordingly love their husbands devoid of swoollen-headedness to enhance the procreational command, the powerful Bishop was of the view that since God created fathers for a special purpose, fathers need to remain resolute and committed to discharge their duties to honor and glorify God.
