Abronye DC alleges assassination plot involving Kennedy Agyepong’s nephew

Political tensions have taken a dramatic turn as outspoken NPP politician and Bono Regional Chairman, Kwame Baffoe, popularly known as Abronye DC, has alleged that Assin Central MP, Kennedy Agyapong, sent his nephew, identified as Safo, to kill him.

In a leaked audio that has since gone viral, Abronye described the alleged plot as “pure wickedness,” accusing Agyapong of orchestrating a plan to eliminate him due to deepening internal party disagreements. He claimed that the supposed hitman had already made threats on his life, prompting him to go public for his own safety.

The revelation has stirred widespread concern among party faithful and the general public, with many calling for an urgent investigation into the claims. While some Ghanaians view Abronye’s allegations as credible given his fiery exchanges with Agyapong in the past, others believe it could be a political tactic ahead of the 2024 elections.

So far, Kennedy Agyapong has not publicly responded to the accusations, but analysts predict the issue could further strain unity within the NPP as leadership races heat up. Civil society groups are urging security agencies to step in immediately, emphasizing that political rivalries must never escalate into violence.

The police are yet to confirm whether a formal complaint has been filed, but pressure is mounting for authorities to treat the matter as a potential national security concern.
