After one year of locking up his shrine: Traditional priest pleads with Asantenhene to reclaim his shrine
A Kwamo in the Ashanti region based renowned traditional priest who claims that some thugs have used force means to unlawfully hijacked his shrine is calling for Asantenhene’s support for the right thing to be done.
Speaking to the Correspondent in an interview, the priest, Opanin Boadi Banin Ababio alleged that it is exactly one year today November 5 2023 where q1some thugs stormed the shrine and without no justification, locked up the premises housing the shrine.
The worried priest, Opanin Boadi Panin Ababio who is the Obrempong Agyemang Tano Bosomfour said his shrine has been locked up for one year now.
Narrating how the situation has been negatively affected his life and the very people who visit the shrine for consultations and other healing purposes, Opanin Boadi Panin Ababio said the gods are not happy.
Tano Bosomfour allegedly fingered the chief of Kwamo for being the brain behind the closure of the shrine as he suspected him to have hands in the operations carried out by the thugs to lock up his shrine.
According to him, Obrempong Agyemang Tano which is supposed to be spiritually fortified before the Sikadwa, is now striving with hunger due to the shrine’s closure resulting from the abuse of power by the Kwamo chief.
“What is the meaning of this? That’s why I am pleading with our overlord. I have already informed and he assigned Baffour Sumankwa to act but to no avail.
Tano is sadly eating from outside during this Akwasidee, all because of the closure, hence I am pleading with Otumfour.
I am pleading because Tano is supposed to eat during Fodjour before the Sikadwa eats on Awukudae.
Opanin Boadi Ababio has hinted that Sumankwaahene has only last week revisit the the shrine which was remained locked, but assured to convey the message to Otumfuo for immediate attention.
It is based on the Sumankwaahene’s visit hence l am once again humbly appealing for Asantenhene’s timely intervention when the news is presented to him for attention.
In another another development, Opanin Boadi Ababio has strongly appealed to all traditional priests who worship Tano to renew their faith in their shrines and serve them as it is to help rekindle the spirit of the Ashanti Kingdom as Otumfuo is on the preparation point to celebrate the Odwira festival in next year (2024).
He added that the gods of the Ashanti play an important role towards the development of the Ashanti Kingdom, therefore as servants of the shrines it is our responsibilities to pay attention to the shrines especially at the occasion where the Overlord King is about to celebrate the Odwira festival to enhance the reputation of the Ashanti Kingdom.
