Alleged crooks always have methods of defence …As Cecelia Abena Dapaah Attempting Sharp U-turn To Reverse Figures Of Stolen Monies Allegations.
Former Sanitation Minister Cecelia Abena Dapaah is hot in her own police reports, alleging that two of her house helps have stolen $1million booty, substantial amount of euros, several millions of cedis and personal belongings from her house in Accra.
The case is currently before an Accra Court for probe and media reports have firmly confirmed that the court is processing the case based on the facts made available to the jurors.
In all these while, the former Minister was silent to react, thus suggested that her claim was justified.
But in some parts of her resignation letter to the president, Abena Dapaah alleged that she and the husband reported a different figures to the police.
Court documents indicated that the Minister and her family lost US$ 1 million, €300,000, millions of Ghanaian cedis, assorted clothes valued at Ghc 95,000 in the robbery scandal.
But she has flatly denied these figures in her resignation letter to the president, describing it as false.
“Whereas l can state emphatically that those figures do not represent correctly what my husband and I reported to the police, l am very much aware of the import of such stories around someone in my position, she told the president in her resignation letter.
Adding that by the end of the investigations into the matter, she would be exonerated.
Abena Dapaah assured the president of her full cooperation with all the state agencies to enable them establish the full facts of the story.
Concluding that she was very sure that by the end of the probe she would be exonerated.
