In a powerful and unambiguous call to action Apostle Clement Ofori Sarbeng, founder and leader of the Faith Salvation Worship Centre in Kumasi Breman in the Ashanti Region, has challenged his fellow pastors to publicly define their true allegiances.
He asked that are they devoted representatives of God or are they politicians operating under the guise of the scripture.
Apostle Sarbeng’s bold declaration came during an exclusive interview at the closing session of a five day monthly revival program held by the Heaven Key Prayer Camp in collaboration with the Faith Salvation Worship Centre on Saturday September 26th at Pampatia in the Afigya Kwabere North district of the Ashanti Region.
Expressing his disappointment about the manner some pastors have been allegedly engaging themselves in active politics without believing in constructive criticism, Apostle Sarbeng asserted that he is not happy about such conduct emanating from the backyards of pastors.
To him such dirty politics does not fit for a person who tags himself with the rank of Pastor, Apostle, or Prophet.
While conceding the fact that that as a citizen of a country contributions to political issues are not offensive irrespective of religious status the Apostle lamented that some of the pastors go contrary to their calls.
Some pastors he said engage themselves in politics to attack innocent people.
Adding that It is because of this alarming trend hence he is making this urgent appeal to call on his colleague pastors to come clear and defend their stance on whether they are true representatives of God or veteran politicians.
Apostle Sarbeng emphasized that the House of God is not a platform for vitriolic attacks and insults nor a place of engaging in vulgar languages against one another.
He further stressed the impossibility of divided loyalties by drawing on the biblical truth that a man cannot also serve two masters, specifically referring to politics and Christianity in this context.
Whilst claiming to be a Christian and at the same time a politician attacking people to the contrary of the word of God then what teachings are you giving to your members, he questioned.
Apostle Clement Ofori Sarbeng, highlighted the hypocrisy and confusion such actions sow among congregants.
The veteran clergyman disclosed that Ghana is in crisis particularly at this time when pastors should be at the forefront of promoting peace and unity to counteract the political disunity which is tearing the country apart.
Instead of fostering harmony for effective economic development the Apostle alleged that some pastors today, out of serving their stomachs and material gains go wayward to pollute their followers whilst following politicians to achieve their aims.
Apostle Sarbeng minced no words in his counsel advised that If you cannot adhere to the meaning of constructive criticism and worship God in line with Christian principles then be on your lane as a politician propagating and championing for earthly gains and not hiding under the Bible to lead people astray.
He concluded with a somber reminder to pastors turned politicians that since judgement day awaits everyone to render his stewardship before his Creator, they must carefully consider their path and take care to either remain in politics or Christianity before it is too late.
. Apostle Clement Ofori Sarbeng message serves as a clarion call for introspection and a return to the core mission of spiritual leadership within Ghana’s religious landscape.
