Artificial Intelligence is the best alternative that could help leverage technology for business development – Says AI expert King Boison.

The Jospong Group of Companies has taken a significant step towards leveraging technology for business growth by training its staff in artificial intelligence (AI). The training, which took place on February 21, 2025, at the African Institute of Sanitation and Waste Management in Accra, forms part of the AI Africa Project.

The AI Africa Project, sponsored by the African Diaspora Central Bank in partnership with the Vanuatu Trade Commission, aims to train 11 million Africans in AI, focusing on improving business operations and financial inclusion. Led by Dr David Boison, a renowned maritime and AI consultant, the project was launched on April 30, 2024, at the British Council in Accra.

In Ghana, the project has already trained approximately 30,000 individuals. As the first large private company to join the AI Africa Project, Jospong Group has demonstrated its commitment to embracing innovation. With around 400 to 600 managers already trained, the group is poised to harness the power of AI to enhance its operations.

Dr. Samanjit, Chief Operating Officer of Jospong Group, emphasized the significance of AI in modern business, citing Elon Musk’s prediction that companies without AI knowledge would become outdated by 2025. “This training is helping our 6,500 employees understand how AI can help them think, develop, and expand on a global level,” Dr. Samanjit noted.

By leveraging AI, Jospong Group aims to improve its operational efficiency, reduce costs, and better serve its stakeholders, shareholders, and customers. As a major player in 19 countries, covering 17 industries with 82 subsidiaries, Jospong Group’s commitment to AI is expected to have a positive impact on Ghana’s economy.

The AI training is also expected to support Ghana’s 24-hour economy policy by improving efficiency in business and government operations. By using AI, businesses can cut costs, reduce waste, and enhance customer experience.

The AI Africa Project has also expanded to other African countries, including Liberia and Nigeria, where training was held under the Ipada Project. As the project continues to gain momentum, it is expected to contribute significantly to the growth and development of businesses across Africa.
