Breaking News: Tragic lnccident hits TV3 & Onua FM Journalists.
A heart- breaking accident that occurred on the Bibiani- Anhweaso road has left a pregnant woman and journalists from TV3 and Onua TV injured.
The incident occurred near the Kwamekrom WAPCO filling station, involving a Sprinter bus and a private saloon car.
Eyewitnesses recounted that the Sprinter bus, registered as GS 7077- 20, was traveling from Kumasi to Sehwi Wiawso with four individuals on board, when a private saloon car, registered as GS 8020- 19, entered the main road from the filling station.
The bus, allegedly traveling at a high speed, was unable to avoid a collision with the private car, resulting in a head- on impact.
The consequences were grave, with all four occupants of the Sprinter bus sustaining varying degrees of injuries.
Tragically, one of the injured individuals, whose identity remains undisclosed, succumbed to their injuries.
Among the injured were two journalists, Mr. Joseph Apala from Adom TV and Kwamena Fynn from Onua TV, both affiliated with Multimedia Group and Media General.
The journalists were en route to report on a previous accident that had taken place on the same road.
Their mission was cut short as they themselves became victims of another unfortunate incident. Currently, both Mr. Apala and Mr. Fynn are receiving medical treatment at a health facility, underscoring the risks that journalists often face while on assignment.
Eyewitnesses placed blame on the private car driver, stating that their failure to properly check for oncoming traffic before entering the road played a pivotal role in causing the accident. The tragic event serves as a stark reminder of the importance of adhering to safe driving practices and exercising caution on the road. As the injured victims receive medical care and families grieve the loss of a loved one, our thoughts are with all those impacted by this sorrowful event.
