CEO of Boris B. Group of Companies Praises MOFA for involving poultry farmers in the fixing of prices of poultry feeds.
The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Boris and Boris B Group of Companies and Veterinary Services Limited in Kumasi, Dr Boris Baidoo has described as appropriate and encouraging, the prices of fowls in the market, explaining that, it is as a result of the Ministry of Food and Agriculture’s (MOFA) subsided policy to reduce cost of maize and other poultry feeds.
Prices of poultry meat have drastically reduced in the country, he observed.
According to him, the cost of fowl in last year Christmas and new year festivities seems to be better, as cost of broilers and layers stood at Gh60, GH 70, and Gh80 respectively.
In an interview with this reporter, Mr Badoo said MOFA was on course for liaison with the poultry farmers in the country to fix the prices of soyabeans, sorghum, maize, oystershells among other products used to feed birds.
A situation which he said, was the secret behind the reduction of prices on fowls among others in the December 2023.
He insisted that the show would continue in this year 2024 to help boost the poultry industry in the country.
For the fact that he expressed satisfaction in the poultry business in last year, he also spoke about the loses and challenges that confronted many poultry farmers as a result of high cost of poultry feeds.
He stressed that farmers now stands the chances to boost their businesses in this year 2024.
He said his outfit Boris B’s Farms has instituted PPLIG which simply means Poultry and Pigetery Launched Improvement in Ghana with the aim at taking good care of the day old chickens to farmers under the supervision of MOFA with seed capital to produce more poultry for consumption.
He added that, his outfit also provides technical advise as well as buying the poultry from the farmers to make them earn living.
Commenting on Boris B’s Chicken (BBC), Dr Baidoo pointed out that chicken livers, gizzards, necks, wings, and full chicken hygienic meat products are available at Boris B’s Farm at Bantama in Kumasi.
The CEO revealed that it is only the Boris B Farm which has a package for fellow Muslims brothers as to how to kill chicken to satisfy their taste, dubbed “HALAL”.
In his special appeal to the government, Dr Boris Baidoo reminded the government to help reduce the cost of electricity for poultry farmers to enhance their businesses to reach a maximum height.
