Chairman Of The Muslim Executive Foundation Urges Gov’t To Pass Laws To Discourage The Youth From Cyber Crime Activities.

In his quest to ensure that the youth of the country are well trained to become responsible future leaders, the chairman for the Muslim Executive Foundation Alhaji Musa Abubakari has charged the government to come out with measures that could help discourage the youth from engaging themselves in cyber crime activities.

Chairman Musa Abubakari who also doubles as the Managing Director Of Basfam Co. Ltd in Kumasi who was speaking to the correspondent in an interview observed that it is high time these days to see the underaged youth riding in an expensive and flashy cars worth over ยข 5 billion old currency apart from owning executive mansions that his parents or even a successful businessman cannot own.

The chairman questioned the sources of income of these boys whose ages normally ranges from 15 to 21.

Such youth, Chairman Abubakari alleged, usually show disrespect to the elderly citizens and also go to the extent of sexually abusing the young girls with their wealth.

Our youth who are the future leaders have now turned to be scammers, using cyber practice to defraud people whilst others indulge in Sakawa activities to amass illegal wealth.

Alhaji Musa Abubakari noted that instead of encouraging the youth to learn a trade to enable them secure jobs for their future, no one cares as the youth sees vocational training skills as a monstrous practice in the country.

He cited that at Kumasi Suame Magazine majority of the apprentices there are foreigners who comes from the neighborhood countries notably Burkina Faso, Togo, Ivory Coast, Benin and Nigeria who after getting trained for few years pack off to their home countries to work sometimes without the notice of their masters.

According to Chairman Abubakari, the irony of the conduct of the youth is that government though is aware about the opulence lifestyles the youth have been indulging in, yet it pretends as if the youth are playing a meaningful role to develop the country.

Hence he has decided to draw the attention of the government to come out with measures that could give the security agencies the full mandate to arrest any underaged youth who is caught owing expensive cars and mansions to reveal his source of income, and when found guilty allowed the laws to take its own cause.

Chairman Abubakari also blamed the media for their inability to use their platforms to campaign against the internet fraud, scamming and Sakawa activities that have been championing by a chunk of the youth in the country.

Chairman Abubakari was of the firm conviction that if his appeal is given the necessary prominence, it will go a long way to discourage the youth from acquiring illegal wealth and instead, turn back to learn a trade which can give them a secure and lasting jobs for their future.
