Concerned Drivers Association Of Ghana Fumes Gov’t Over Road Accidents Caused By Toll Booths.
The Concerned Drivers Association Of Ghana has expressed their displeasure about the rate which road accidents have been happening at the places where Toll Booths have been installed across the country.
In a press release signed jointly by the Deputy National Secretary, Nana Wiredu and the Public Relations Officer Mr David Agboado respectively of the Association, the release urged the government to either demolish the the Toll Booths or resume tolls collection to avoid further accidents at such spots.
The Association has threatened to advise itself if government fails to take action.
We publish below the unedited release the Association distributed to the media houses for government attention.

Press Statement for Immediate Release
Demolish Toll Booths or Resume Toll Collections
The above mentioned association is by this statement calling on the government to demolish all tollbooths in the country without any delay or resume the collection of road tolls with immediate effect.
We have become alarmed by the rampant accident cases being reported at the various tollbooths.
No measures have been put in place to control traffic flow at the various booths since they were decommissioned over a year ago.
We wish to emphasize that the Kasoa and Motorway tollbooths have recorded the most dangerous and life threatening accidents and just Sunday 3rd September, 2023, another one occurred at the Tema toll plaza.
We wish to call on government to as a matter of urgency demolish all those tollbooths or take steps to decommission them according to this year’s budget statement presented by the finance ministry.
Failure on the part of the government to do any of these may cause us to carry out the demolition by ourselves as we can’t afford to put our lives at risk in the line of contributing to national development.
