Controversy erupts in Ashanti region as Npp chairman is accused of faking supporter incident.

Reports: King Amoah.

The political landscape in Ghana’s Ashanti Region has been thrown into turmoil following allegations against Mr. Bernard Antwi Bosiako, the Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the region.

Accusations have surfaced that Bosiako has engaged in alleged deceptive practices involving purported incidents of NPP supporters caught in defecation cases, ostensibly to paint a negative image of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) and its sympathizers.

Paa Kwesi Mills, a prominent NDC activist from the Asawase Constituency, has publicly decried these actions and called for the public to treat Bosiako’s claims with the utmost contempt.

The allegations have sparked outrage among party loyalists and have raised questions about the integrity of political discourse in the region.

The Allegations:

According to Mills, the incidents in question involve individuals allegedly affiliated with the NPP who have been framed as engaging in disgraceful acts in an effort to tarnish the reputation of NDC supporters.

These supposed acts are being positioned as a reflection of the character of NDC sympathizers, a tactic Mills suggests is designed to manipulate public perception ahead of upcoming elections.

“The actions of Mr. Bernard Antwi Bosiako affectionately called Chairman Wontumiare not only unethical but also undermine the democratic process,” Mills stated during an exclusive interview with the Correspondent.

“Using false narratives to deceive the public is a tactic that should be condemned by all who value the integrity of our political systems.”

The Ashanti Region, a stronghold for the NPP, has seen heightened political tensions as both the ruling party and the opposition gear up for what promises to be a contentious electoral battle in the coming months.

Disinformation and unsubstantiated claims have become all too common in Ghanaian politics, leading many observers to question the motives behind such actions.

The NPP, once known for its staunch commitment to democracy and transparency, now finds itself on the defensive against these serious allegations.

Supporters of the party are calling for a reevaluation of Bosiako’s leadership and a renewed commitment to honest political engagement.
