Danger looms Donyina over absence of a substantial queen mother ….As indiscipline and teenage pregnancies overtake the town – Says Director for Corruption Combat International
The Executive Director for Corruption Combat lnternational, Nana Kwadwo Amoah Ampem Okogyeabour has petitioned the Ashanti overlord, Otumfour Osei to as a matter of urgency to intervene in the installation process of a new queen mother for Donyina.
According to him, it is very unfortunate that some people including the chief of Donyina have been a standing block to the process, adding that the absence of a queen mother for the past years has brought so many misfortunes to the community including indiscipline, teenage pregnancies among others.
The investigator further blaming the Donyina chief said, the chief who was not even a royal member of the community was put to the throne under consideration.
According to him, the chief has now surrounded himself with some strangers who are also not royals of the stool, and he is now using some dubious means to bring in a new queen mother to replace the old one who is dead.
“The community royal family brought out a new queen mother which the chief resisted.
This led to a misunderstanding which forced the other faction to invoke Otumfour’s wrath upon the chief for rejecting the qualified candidate”. Okogeabour said.
He further reveals that, Otumfour got notice of the case later, asked the chief and his elders to go back and settle to bring peace.
According to him, the Donyina chief, despite Otumfour’s orders has since not settled any issue, hence the delay in the installation of a new queen mother.
He further accused the Donyina chief for causing many confusions within the community thereby, affecting development.
The Manhyia investigator and Executive Director for Corruption Combat International is therefore appealing to Otumfour Osei Tutu to as a matter of urgency
intervene into the case and deal with anyone who would be found culpable to ensure that a new queen mother is installed
The Executive Director who adds as the great grandson of Otumfour Osei Tutu I and also the investigative chief for the Manhyia palace said, he foresees possible danger in the town should there be any delay in installing a new queen mother for Donyina.
