DEFUNCT GDLA BOSS ARRESTED OVER UNLAWFUL SALE OF LANDS AT LA, TSE-ADO ….. DETAINED 24 HOURS.
The Accra Regional Police Command has arrested the founder of the defunct Ga Dangbe Lands Administration ( GDLA ) David Adjekwei Adjei alias Kimens also popularly known as King Ayi Tunma.
The arrest was carried out on the early hours of 5 am on Wednesday October 18, 2023 at his residence at Sowutuom in GA West District of the Greater Accra Region.
The arrest of King Ayi Tunma which was carried out in a rambo style from the gate of his residence was carried out by a special assigned team of the Counter Terrorism Unit of the Ghana Police Service of the Greater Accra Regional Police Command.
According to police sources, the suspect was apprehended following a tip off that King Ayi was allegedly engaging in unlawful sale of land properties including a parcel of land which belongs to one Dr. Desmond Nii Odartey Aryee – Boi , Chief Executive Officer for Bonades Construction Company Limited which has its office complex at Tse- Ado in La.
It can be recalled that on the 27th of February, 2023 this year a letter of disclaimer from the Greater Accra Regional House of Chiefs signed by the Registrar, Enoch Addo stated that the House had warned the Claimant from using the title of King Ayi Tunma, privately known as David Adjekwei Adjei to desist from using the said title highest Royal name of the Ga Nii Ayi Tunma We Royal Throne Dynasty family. ” KING AYI TUNMA “.
The house further notified the general public to also desist from undertaking any form of business transaction with the said personality who goes by name King Ayi Tunma of the Ga Dangbe Lands Administration GDLA.
The Regional House of Chiefs also warned all government institutions and agencies to desist from working with the same David Adjekwei Adjei alias kimens who also parades himself as King Ayi Tunma.
It also confirmed that the said David Adjekwei Adjei alias kimens is not a CHIEF in any circles around the Greater Accra Region as he keeps saying and persuading people to believe him as a legitimate chief.
The said letter of disclaimer from the Regional House of Chiefs on paragraph six , called on all the Security Agencies to arrest and prosecute the said fake chief by name David Adjekwei Adjei alias kimens also parading himself as King Ayi Tunma if he continue to masquerade as a chief to the contrary to section 63(a) of the Chieftaincy Act 759 of 2008.
Sources further revealed that the complainant Dr. Desmond Nii Odartey Aryee-boi among others lodged a formal complain through a petition to the Accra Regional Police Command over some two plots of land at the backyard of the premises of the Defunct Ga Dangbe Lands Administration office at Tse Addo.
The land according to the Doctor been the principal complainant has been there for several years without any development on it.
But he realized that some people including the suspect King Ayi Tunma started showing interest on it.
He noted that he briefed the suspect King Ayi Tunma about some past confrontations and events that had transpired on the land and seek for measured to address these issue through the GDLA.
But little did he know that his intention to seek for assistance and direction was rather going to compound his situation and further worsen his plight on the issues confronting his two plots of land.
He reiterated that , he realised his two plots of land behind the Bonades office complex was being developed without his knowledge and concern , therefore questioned who was working on the land but the suspect King Ayi Tunma failed to show up who the developer was.
He also said that all efforts to stop the developer proved futile because the suspect King Ayi Tunma prevented him from interrogating the workers on the land to know their boss.
I am by this reason writing a petition to the Accra Regional Police Command for proper investigation and interrogations to know who has unlawfully sold out my property and who has entered and further to develop without my consent.
He recalled that somewhere in 2019 ,the Suspect came to the office of Bonades Construction Company limited with a friend in request for the used of the office for the operations of the Ga Dangbe Lands Administration but later found out that his property behind the office as Tse-Ado at La ,has been sold out by the suspects to an unknown developer at the cost of 200, 000 dollars out of which 127, 000 dollars has been paid in various sums of money through cash payment and cheques of an Ecobank Accounts belonging to the Suspect and his defunct company name of the Ga Dangbe Lands Administration ( GDLA. ).
The complainant further revealed that ,he has received an information from the developer on his land that the Suspect King Ayi Tunma issued a site plan to the developer in the name of Bonades Construction Company limited and claimed to be the owner of the two plots of land including the Bonades Office which they rented for an office for the operation of the Ga Dangbe Lands Administration. The Suspect David Adjekwei Adjei was arrested about three hundred meters away from the gate of his residence at Sowutuom by the Greater Accra Regional Police Command , Counter Terrorism Unit at 5am on the Wednesday the 18th of October,2023 gave him a hot Chase and crossed his Nissan Patrol SUV black Car with a red coloured sprayed rooftop.
During interrogation in a conference with complainant and all the parties involved before the Deputy Regional Crime officer ,the Suspect admitted to the selling of the land at Tse Ado belonging to the complainant Dr. Desmond Aryee-boi, CEO of the Bonades Construction Company limited to Lofty Homes Ghana limited , without the consent of the complainant Dr. Desmond Aryee-boi. The Suspect self Acclaimed King Ayi Tunma also admitted to issuing receipt in the name of the Ga Dangbe Lands Administration GDLA, to the tune of 127,000 dollars but rather gave the developer a site plan in the name of Bonades Construction Company limited and claimed to be the CEO of the company, when he is not Dr. Desmond Aryee-boi. ( impersonation ) as well as the GDLA which he falsely claim gives him mandate to sell the two plots of land. ( Defrauding by false Pretense)
He further admitted during his interrogations that the developer whom he sold the land to are his clients.
He is currently in the custody of the Accra Regional Police Command to assist in further interrogation and investigation for the facts to be unravel untill due process will be carried out for further directives and legal Court Action.
