Delegation From The 24-Hour Secretariat And lndian Organisation Engage Nkwanta North Chiefs In Project Discussions

A delegation from the 24-hour Secretariat and representatives of an Indian Investment firm ATRI, acting on the directive of His Excellency President John Dramani Mahama have paid visit to the Nkwanta North District to engage in discussions with the traditional authorities on a proposed palm plantation project.

On their arrival the team met with the chiefs and elders of the communities to officially communicate to them, government’s readiness to initiate and establish a large scale palm plantation project in the area.

The Nkwanta North proposed project when started would generate employment opportunities, boost local economic activities, power generation among other essential social amenities.

Addressing the gathering, Mr Joe Onyame who spoke on behalf of the the delegation explained that the visit was part of the broader efforts to promote agricultural development and industrial growth at the community level.

Mr Onyame who also doubles as the Project Manager of the lndian firm (ATRI) who are expected to execute the project assured to complete the project in time when it takes off.

The chiefs and elders who warmly received the delegation expressed their full support for the project.

Nana Konja Tasssan VI who spoke on behalf of the chiefs, encouraged the Indian Investment firm ATRI to see to it that the project is successfully completed and handed over to the government when commenced.

We want action but not lip service the chief stressed.

Nana assured the Organisation of the chiefs and people within the District readiness and commitment to cooperate to enhance peace and speedy completion of the project.

On his part the District Chief Executive of Nkwanta North Hon. Dordoe Kudjoe Isiah expressed his gratitude for the delegation and for that matter the Ndc led His Excellency, President John Dramani Mahama’s administration for choosing his District to establish the palm plantation project to benefit the people.

According to to him the 24- hour palm plantation project to be sited in the Nkwanta North District , when it takes off would not only create lob opportunities alone for the youth but it would also contribute positively to the economic development of the district and beyond.

As a viable venture that aimed at improving the living standards of the people Hon Kudjoe Isiah advised the citizens to cooperate fully wlth the Contractors who are expected to execute project for the benefit of the district.

Meanwhile further stakeholders engagements are expected to continue as preparations are far advanced to ensure the project’s implementation and sustainability to benefit the people of Nkwanta North District.
