Reports Peprah in Kumasi.
A prominent NPP leader, Alhaji Musah Mohammed (aka Chairman Gawo), has attributed the party’s recent defeat to internal issues, including greed, selfishness, and neglect.
Alhaji Gawo, who serves as the National Chairman for the NPP Zongo Caucus Communications, expressed concern over the party’s poor performance in the 2024 election.
Speaking about the factors contributing to the party’s loss, he warned of a potentially extended period in opposition if the leadership structure is not addressed. He specifically blamed certain unnamed individuals and leaders within the party for contributing to its problems. Alhaji Gawo stated that the party would remain in opposition “for a very long time” unless those leaders exit post.
He also suggested that the party’s fortunes could be reversed by promoting specific individuals into leadership roles, which would, in his view, lead to increased popularity and future victories.
