Don’t be fooled about his money and goodwill -Okatskyie Afrifa’s fiery warning to Ghanaians about Ibrahim Mahama

Ghanaian media commentator Okatakyie Afrifa has sparked controversy with bold claims about prominent businessman Ibrahim Mahama, warning citizens not to be deceived by his acts of generosity and philanthropic image.

During a recent episode of his For The Records online program, Afrifa alleged that Ibrahim Mahama’s charitable initiatives are not as genuine as they appear. He claimed that these acts of kindness are strategically used as a front to disguise the businessman’s true intentions, which he believes are rooted in personal enrichment rather than national interest.

According to Afrifa, Ibrahim Mahama—who is the founder and CEO of Engineers and Planners—is cleverly using his public image and financial power to win public favor while allegedly benefiting from Ghana’s resources behind the scenes. He insinuated that Mahama’s influence in both the business and political arenas has given him unchecked leverage, particularly because of his close ties to former President John Dramani Mahama, who is also his brother.

Afrifa argued that this relationship has allowed Ibrahim Mahama to operate with a level of privilege and protection that most Ghanaian entrepreneurs do not enjoy. He accused him of hiding behind humanitarian projects and public donations to polish his reputation and distract citizens from what he referred to as “opportunistic exploitation.”

The outspoken host also expressed disappointment in the Ghanaian public, suggesting that many have been misled by the businessman’s display of wealth and generosity. Afrifa said the public has become too quick to admire individuals who show off financial power, often overlooking the hidden motives behind such displays.

He cautioned Ghanaians to critically examine the intentions behind high-profile philanthropic acts, especially when they are tied to individuals with political affiliations. Afrifa concluded that true development and justice in Ghana can only come when citizens start questioning what lies beneath seemingly noble gestures.
