Dr Ato Forson’s invaluable contributions to the National Democratic Congress (NDC) have earned him widespread acclaim, and his intellect and professionalism have been instrumental in steering the party towards victory in the just ended 2024 elections.Dr. Forson as a trusted voice in the NDC has kit remarkable ability to analyze complex economic issues and provide innovative lasting solutions has made him a champion of economic development in Ghana.

Born on August 5, 1978, in Ajumako Bisease, Central Region, Ghana, Dr. Forson has had a distinguished academic career. He obtained his first degree in accounting from the South Bank University in London, followed by a Master of Science in Taxation from the University of Oxford, UK, and another Master of Science degree in economics from KNUST.

He further obtained a PhD in Business and Management (finance option) in September 2020 from KNUST.

Dr. Forson is a Ghanaian Legislator, Fiscal Economist, Chartered Accountant, Tax practitioner, and Entrepreneur with professional experience spanning two decades in both private and public sectors. He has served as the managing director of Forson Contracts Limited in the United Kingdom and as the chief executive officer for Omega Africa Holding Limited.

Throughout his career, Dr. Forson has been a strong advocate of good governance, transparency, and accountability.

Undoubtedly, as the Minority Leader in Ghana’s 8th Parliament, Dr. Forson has been vocal about the need for prudent economic management. He has emphasized the importance of striking a delicate balance between reducing expenditure and increasing domestic revenue.
