E/R: ANGRY YOUTH AND DRIVERS OF AKYEM KUSI, DENKYEMBOUR DISTRICT CRY FOR DEVELOPMENT.
A section of angry youth of Akyem Kusi and Denkyembour district of the Eastern Region are crying for help from the government to help fix their deplorable road network.
They said, their challenges are not limited to the deplorable state of their roads alone but also infrastructural development and other basic needs like water, toilet facilities, market, power among others of the area.
In an interview with the media the residents said the assembly member for the area has done nothing for them.
Some of the drivers also explained how the road has become unmotorable thus causing damages to their vehicles whilst they cannot meet the prices of spare parts these days when vehicles get fault.
A women named simply as Annointing said that the assembly member for the area allegedly collaborated with some officials from the Electricity Co collect each resident GHc150 under the pretext of bringing them meters but getting to 4 years up to now no meter has been provided let alone refund our monies
On his part, the Asafoakye of Akyem Kusi Traditional Council Mr. Yaw Amoako told journalists that almost all the youth in the area have turned into drug abusers and hardly show respect to the elderly citizens.
He said numerous education that the Council have been given to them on the dangers that associated with drug abuse have been turned into deaf ears by the youth.
Assfoatse therefore called on the government to come their aid to help solve the canker which have overtaken the youth before it too late.
