URGENT: Uncovering of Electoral Interference and Manipulation in Ejisu Constituency By-Election
Ejisu Constituency: Hon Owusu Aduomi’s campaign team for the upcoming by-election in Ejisu Constituency issues this urgent press release to expose alarming attempts at electoral interference and manipulation orchestrated by the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
It has become evident that the NPP, recognizing the lack of viable prospects for their candidate in the forthcoming by-election, has resorted to crude and unethical tactics to subvert the democratic process. We condemn in the strongest terms these malicious actions that undermine the sanctity of our electoral system and betray the trust of the Ghanaian people.
We have received credible information revealing the existence of a significant stockpile of ballot papers at the Kwamo Executive Lodge, allegedly under the supervision of the National Women Organizer of the NPP, Madam Kate Gyamfuah. This open 1 violation of electoral integrity represents a flagrant attempt to manipulate the outcome of the by-election and disenfranchise the electorate.
We hereby serve notice to the leadership of the NPP and any other individuals complicit in these reprehensible activities that the people of Ejisu Constituency will not tolerate any efforts to disrupt the electoral process or tamper with its outcome. Any such attempt will be met with staunch resistance and condemnation from the community.
On the 30th of April, 2024, the good people of Ejisu will exercise their democratic right to choose their representative, free from interference or coercion. We demand that the NPP leadership respect the will of the electorate and refrain from any further attempts at electoral manipulation.
We call upon all relevant authorities, including the Electoral Commission, law enforcement agencies, and civil society organizations, to conduct a thorough investigation into these serious allegations and take immediate action to safeguard the integrity of the electoral process in Ejisu Constituency.
The people of Ejisu are determined to decide their future through a fair, transparent, and credible election, and we will not be deterred by the machinations of those who seek to undermine democracy.
