Family celebrates landmark amidst warning public against land deals with fraudulent claimants

A wave of jubilation has swept through the Asona Royal family of Krobo Buoho in the Afigya Kwabre District in the Ashanti Region following a decisive legal victory in a long standing land dispute.

In the wake of this landmark court ruling, the family has issued a stern warning to the general public, that caution against any land transactions involving an individual identified as Kwaku Duah.

 

 

Led by the Head of the Family (Abusuapanyin) Akora Poku the Asona Royal family has emphatically stated that any individual who enters into land deals with the aforementioned Kwaku Duah does so at their own peril.

The family stressed that any land purchased from Duah could leead to demolition in the future as Kwaku Duah possesses no legal rights to the ancestral lands that belong to the Asona family.

The joyous celebrations followed a final judgment delivered on Monday, March 16, 2026, at the Kumasi High Court 3 presided over by Her Ladyship Enid Marful Sawu

The ruling brought a conclusive end to a lawsuit initiated by Kwaku Duah himself.

Mr. Duah had dragged the Asona Royal family to court, alleging ownership of a specific portion of land and accusing the family of using force to reclaim it from him.

However after a thorough adjudication of the facts and evidence presented the court unequivocally dismissed Mr. Kwaku Duah’s claims.

The ruling confirmed that Kwaku Duah is not the rightful owner of the disputed land.

In a significant move to discourage any frivolous litigation the court further imposed a fine of GHS 3,000 on Kwaku Duah.

This sum is to be paid to the Asona Royal family as compensation for the considerable time and resources they wasted until judgement the final verdict was given..

The family expressed relief and gratitude insisting that the judgment is a testament to the truth and the rightful claim of the ownership of the land.

We have fought this battle with integrity and patience and justice has finally prevailed, the family noted.

Adding our message to the public is clear: do not be deceived by any individual who claim ownership of lands that rightfully belong to us.

Engaging with such individuals is a recipe for disaster and we will not hesitate to protect our inheritance, Akora Poku asserted.

The Asona Royal family urges all potential land buyers and investors in the Krobo Buoho area to exercise due diligence and to consult directly with the family or their authorized representatives before engaging in any land transactions.

Expressing further appreciation for the verdict Akora Poku said the case was first judged in their favor at the Manhyia Palace in 2021 and 2024.

He said he said the Asona Royal Family been the rightful owners of the Krobo Buoho ancestral. lands would always protect their properties without fear or favor.
