Grassroots bljtz: Kennedy Agyepong supporters intensity campaign in Kumasi ahead of Npp flagbearershlp contests

Supporters of Hon. Kennedy Agyepong a prominent contender for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearership, have significantly ramped up their campaign efforts in the Ashanti Region employing a robust grassroots strategy ahead of the party’s national congress slated for January 31, 2026.

Emerging reports from across the Ashanti Region indicate that Agyepong’s camp is determined to secure victory with his loyalists firmly on the ground and actively playing their part in the intense internal race.

While the campaigns of other aspirants often remain confined to radio appearances and internal party discussions, Agyepong’s supporters are reportedly assailing their way through the stronghold region moving beyond traditional media to engage directly with party faithful.

This correspondent can state without fear or favour that the legislator’s supporters in the Ashanti Region are not only utilizing radio stations to promote his bid but are also heavily invested in extensive grassroots work.

Kwesi Kakra and Obeng Kuffour self-confessed supporters of Kennedy Agyepong confirmed to this correspondent that the NPP is currently facing a deep crisis.

They argue that without a formidable and forceful person like Kennedy Agyepong at the helm, the party risks collapsed
before 2028.

For this reason, we remain yfocused to back Ken to salvage the party from collapse, Kakra and Kuffour affirmed.

They detailed their campaign activities by stating, We have been going round sharing the ideologies and policies of Kennedy Agyepong at the grassroots with supporters.

Regarding the crucial delegates who will ultimately decide the flagbearer the supporters expressed confidence.

Stressing that the main delegates are no problem because they are mature politicians who know why Kennedy is fighting for the NPP and the entire country.

The duo further revealed that their other colleagues are also actively working across all the regions, indicating a coordinated national effort to secure the party’s top slot for the Assin Central lawmaker.

As the 2026 congress draws closer, the intensified grassroots engagement by Kennedy Agyepong’s faction in the Ashanti Region marks a distinct approach in the unfolding NPP flagbearership race, setting a potentially challenging pace for his contenders.
