He was paid $50,000on Friday night and instructed to embarrass Rev Forjour – Abronye DC

Kwame Baffoe, popularly known as Abronye DC and the Bono Regional Chairman of the NPP, has publicly accused JoyNews journalist Samson Lardy Anyenini of receiving a $50,000 bribe from NDC affiliates to smear MP Rev. John Ntim Fordjour, escalating political tensions.

According to Abronye’s statement, the payment aimed to silence Fordjour after he raised parliamentary concerns about possible drug trafficking and financial irregularities connected to two flights—one by AirMed and another by Cavok Air—associated with Gran Canaria, a region linked to drug operations.

“The NDC is concerned about this drug investigation and is now leveraging media personalities like Anyenini to discredit Fordjour,” Abronye alleged. “They compensated him to attack the MP on national television.”

The allegations follow Fordjour’s appearance on the Newsfile show hosted by Anyenini. While reports suggested Fordjour walked out in frustration, he refuted the claims, asserting that Sammy Gyamfi had edited the broadcast to mislead viewers.

On social platforms, Fordjour clarified that he had completed his segment and accused Gyamfi and Anyenini of manipulating public perception. He further claimed that Anyenini behaved unprofessionally by interrupting him repeatedly and making biased statements during the interview.

Neither JoyNews nor the NDC has commented on the matter. The dispute has drawn public attention back to concerns regarding potential drug trafficking linked to international flights arriving in Ghana.
