The Member of Parliament for Twifo Hemang Lower Denkyira Constituency in the Central region Hon Lawrence Agyinsam on Friday December 2025 successfully hosted a memorable Retirees Day Celebration and Best Teachers Award Ceremony for both public and private schools at the Hemang Methodist Church.
The colourful event brought together number of retired teachers, students, parents, traditional authorities and community members in a warmly atmosphere of peace and unity.
With the agendas of the program a wide variety of valuable items were presented to outstanding headteachers, teachers, students, non-teaching staff and number of retired teachers within the Constituency and beyond.
The items include Nasco Chest Freezers, Laptops, Cash Prizes,
Television Sets, Gas Burners, Blenders and Quality Cloths.
Others on the lists are Learning Materials, Trophy for the Best School, Citations among others given to some best, hardworking and dedicated teachers and some retired educationists
Addressing the gathering the District Education Director, Mrs. Lucy Jecinta Afia Nkansah expressed her deep appreciation to Hon. Lawrence Agyinsam for his continuous investment in the educational sector within the constituency.
She noted that such recognition will serve as a strong motivation for teachers to give their best and inspire students to pursue academic excellence.
In his speech Hon. Lawrence Agyinsam reaffirmed his unwavering commitment to improve the quality and standard of education in the constituency.
He emphasized that education remains the most powerful tool for shaping the future of the community and the nation at large.
The MP also acknowledged the retired teachers for their years of service, dedication and the significant impact they have made in guiding generations of children.
He noted that their sacrifices and contributions form the bedrock of the constituency’s educational achievements.
The event concluded with joy, inspiration and renewed community spirit as attendees came together to celebrate excellence, commitment and lifelong service.
